Geometry 1st ESO. An CLIL (AICLE) unit

This is a CLIL unit to teach the geometry of the first course acording with the Balearic Islands math curricula.




This unit presents the triangle notable points using english as a L2. The aim is to learn how to find the triangle notable points drawing lines over the initial figure, as a goal it present the incenter, the circuncenter and the ortocenter, all of this with all vocabulary wich we need to explain how to draw each triable notable point.




The work on this unit will be:


• Activities of join concepts and definitions.
• Explain how to draw a notable point. (speaking and wriiting activities)
• Draw the notable points in diferent types of triangles using paper, pencil and rules, and using GeoGebra (TIC).


Schedule
This unit has 7 classes
1. Introduction to the notable points of triangle, and its definitions


This session will begin with a teacher explanation and work with the students arround the classroom. The techer will explain one notable point and using strings and tree students, the notable point explained will be found.

3. Drawing in paper activities.


On drawing sheets the students will draw three types of triangle and they will draw the notable points using three diferent colors (each one for each notable point).





4. Drawing using TIC activities


An activity, using Geogebra, is crated in order to the students draw the notable points using ICT. The activity is created in http://tube.geogebra.org/book/title/id/334927#.

The students enter in this page, they do the activity amb send a screenshot to the teacher using Moodle.

A classical Test will be presented to the students. They have 50 min to finish the test.

Activities work and Final
The activities will be:
• Activities of join concepts and definitions.
• Explain how to draw a notable point. (speaking and wriiting activities)
• Draw the notable points in diferent types of triangles using paper, pencil and rules, and using GeoGebra (TIC).

The final work will be take 3 pieces of string (5m aprox.
each one) with groups of 4 students (3, one for each edge
of the triangle and 1 will be on the position of one notable
point), take a photo. And then, usong the Geogebra make
the proof is is correct the position of the “central” student.

Metodology

AICLE Recursos educativos

Gemetria Aicle 

Ésta es una unidad muy buena para trabajar las comptencias AICLE y geometría en Primero de ESO.

1. ¿Cómo se ve reflejado el trabajo con la lengua y el contenido a la vez? ¿Qué actividades lo evidencian? el trabajo esta muy compenetrado, una primera parte es que el alumno aprende o afianza las definiciones de la geometría para luego trabajarlos con los ejercicios de matemáticas
   
2. ¿Que características de la metodología AICLE se ven reflejadas y de qué modo? ¿uso de andamiaje, flexibilidad, cercano al alumno, variedad de recursos, trabajo por tareas, etc.? El trabajo aicle se ve reflejado muy bien el el adamiaje de la unidad, hay una gran variedad de recursos y además acepta la atención a la diversidad.
   
3. ¿De qué manera se refleja en las actividades de la unidad

           Los alumnos van adquiriendo casi sin darse cuenta el vocabulario que necesitaran para toda la unidad, a continuación los ejercicios que propone la unidad hacen que se consigan los objetivos procedimentales de la materia en cuestión.

Es una Unidad muy buena, para el nivel y tema que se especifica.

E/R model

El tema de E/R model está liquidado. Los alumnos han atendido en las clases teóricas y se han defendido bien con los ejercicios. Parece ser que lo que les cuesta más son los conceptos básicos, como que es una entidad, un atributo, un valor,... , parece ser que hacer la abstracción del mundo real al mundo abstracto de las representaciones que requiere la asignatura, les cuesta. Por suerte cada vez menos.
Uno de los objetivos que va a costar más va a ser a partir de un enunciado, puedan distinguir las entidades, propiedades de éstas, los valores que puede tomar cada una y las relaciones entre ellas, otra cosa que deberán cambiar es que los valores no son siempre numéricos si no que hay todo tipo de valores (nombres, colores,...).
Hoy tenemos el examen, veremos que tal!.

Clase de E/R Model

Ayer 28 de octubre expliqué el modelo entidad relación a los alumnos, evidentemente en inglés.
Mientras explicaba tenia la sensación que la mitad de los alumnos estaban haciendo otra cosa con el ordenador, muchos clicks oía mientras yo explicaba.
Al terminar mi explicación, una hora y media, les puse unos ejercicios, también en inglés, la mayoría se quedo en el primero, que era el sencillo, y los demás los expliqué con el diagrama proyectado.

Ahora tienen una lista de ejercicios para el martes, y durante esta semana tienen que ir haciéndolos y para las dudas estoy yo allí.
